Double header of reggae stars heading to North Devon this weekend

Join acclaimed bands The Barefoot Bandit plus Captain Accident and the Disasters at St Mary’s Hall in Appledore on Saturday, May 30
An exciting double header of two acclaimed UK reggae bands will be taking to the stage at Appledore Music Festival this weekend.
Festival main stage act The Barefoot Bandit will be headlining the gig at St Mary’s Hall on Saturday (May 30) together with equally-acclaimed Captain Accident and the Disasters.
The 8.30pm gig is ticketed but £10 in advance is a small price to pay for reggae fans to see two much-admired bands that have made their mark on the UK scene.
The Barefoot Bandit are fresh from 2025 main stage slots at Beautiful Days and Beat-Herder, but have enjoyed plenty of time at major festivals including Glastonbury, Boardmasters, Boomtown Fair and Camp Bestival.
The South West based band offer an electrifying live show that has been winning over crowds across the country and beyond, blending deep, bass-heavy dub, vibrant reggae, anthemic hooks and world-music energy into a sound that’s unmistakably their own.
Their debut album Hello Welcome in 2022 earned major support from Craig Charles (BBC Radio 6 Music), BBC Introducing and reggae legend Sir David Rodigan (BBC Radio 1Xtra).
Captain Accident and the Disasters have supported a series of shows with the legendary Toots & the Maytals and have also shared a stage with many of the biggest names in reggae and ska.
These include Suggs, who jumped on stage to sing with the band, plus Maxi Priest, Sister Sledge, The Skatalites, Bad Manners and countless others, not to mention a short UK tour with reggae royalty Julian Marley.
