Close encounter as Titans battle

TITANS’ top teams battled until the final whistle when they met in the North Devon Netball League.

Clubmates Apollo and Neptune could not be separated for the first half. But Apollo found another gear and pulled seven points ahead in the second half and held on to win 34-27.

Close rivals Carol Anne’s top teams were all successful. Diamonds had to work had initially against Venners Vipers, but moved easily ahead after the first break. Trolls were pushed all the way by Titans Saturn, but were strong enough to come through 44-36, while Pearls dominated against Pat Williams Girls.

Division 2 Panthers played two superb matches, mauling Fillies 54-25 and then winning a close encounter with Mole Valley Moltons 40-38.

Bude Satellites continue to strive for the Division 3 title and did their cause a power of good with a 47-24 win over another top team Carol Anne Golds.

North Devon Homes and Bude Rockets scored over 100 goals in their match with Homes just having the edge 54-47.
