Chemo appeal gets a boost with a brew
Fremington coffee mornings help aid hospital appeal
COFFEE drinkers in Fremington have helped raise 520 for the North Devon Chemotherapy Appeal.
A group of ladies, who like to be called the “Wives of Barnstaple Rotary Link Membersâ€, held a series of coffee mornings in the village hall after friend Ellen Anderson, wife of Rotarian David, was diagnosed with cancer.
They wanted to support the fund-raising appeal for a new chemotherapy unit and day centre at North Devon District Hospital after seeing the difficult conditions staff at the hospital were working under to help their friend.
Appropriately they presented their 520 cheque for the appeal to fund-raising manager Ian Roome in a coffee mug.
