Newly refurbished food technology classrooms have been unveiled at Pilton Community College.
A £220,000 project to revamp the teaching spaces was officially opened by headteacher Graham Hill and food technology teacher Alli Clemmet-Jones.
And former student Hywel Denham – who’s now a professional chef – returned to the college to help current hospitality and catering students to prepare canapes for guests.
The refurbishment included the complete replacement of ceilings and flooring, new fixed furniture, additional storage space and a range of new kitchen equipment.
All the materials for the project were sourced as locally as possible and local joiners, decorators and flooring contractors were employed.
