Car on fire in Barnstaple town centre

Revellers and residents alerts emergency services after a car spotted blazing by the Longbridge.

FIRE fighters were called to the centre of Barnstaple last night (Wednesday) after receiving several calls to say a car was ablaze near the Longbridge.

Two donned breathing apparatus and hose reel jets were used to extinguish the burning car, which was apparently on the public roadway.

The car was left severely damaged following the incident just before 10pm, which police said was not being treated as suspicious.
