SIR - Well done Methodist preacher Muriel Hodges and her letter about praying at council meetings.

For centuries meetings have had prayers; we are, after all, supposed to be a Christian country.

Mr Bone does not deserve to be a councillor.

Bring back old fashioned values, religious Christian teaching in schools with daily assemblies.

The churches do a lot of good work helping others: look at the good the Salvation Army does, turning up at all disasters, helping the poor and needy.

Mr Bone should be ashamed of himself. Christians unite!
