Breakfast strip brings home the bacon for hospice
Sub-zero stunt raises 700 for charity
THREE men who braved sub-zero temperatures to fulfil and fund-raising promise have handed over a cheque to North Devon Hospice.
Paul Momber, James Chapple and Ben Kerr raised 700 when they stripped to their underwear and served customers at a Barnstaple catering van last December.
The trio endured temperatures of minus six during the stunt at June Cann’s Double C diner at Seven Brethren.
Paul said he came up with the idea to give something back to the hospice, which is currently giving care to his mother-in-law.
“I was so impressed with how generous everybody was on the day,†he said.
“I’d like to thank the many people who donated, as well as June because she donated 50p from every breakfast sold to help us reach our total.
“The support he hospice provides means the world to families like mine so I felt compelled to help out in whatever way I could.â€
