Braunton police are advising local residents to secure their sheds, outbuildings and garages following an increase in thefts.

As part of their efforts to keep crime down, the neighoburhood police team are asking residents to be more secure.

"Although we are still one of the safest places to live in the country, we must never become too complacent" said Sgt Jeff Pearce.

"Over the last couple of weeks we have had bicycles stolen from garages that have been left unlocked. Please keep sheds, garages and outbuildings secure.
