CROYDE Beach has regained its coveted recognised Blue Flag Award for 2011.
The internationally recognised symbol of excellence awarded by Keep Britain Tidy was ceremonially returned to its pole after a four year absence.
The beach lost its flag in 2007 due to run off from field into the stream that feeds on to the beach, but after reapplying for it this year owners Parkdean Holidays – which runs nearby Ruda Holiday Park - were delighted to se it approved.
“We are thrilled that Croyde Bay has regained its Blue Flag status,†said Ruda general manager Steven Harper-Smith.
“The visitors to Ruda Holiday Park that return year after year will all agree that Croyde Bay is a superb location – and now it’s official!â€
The prestigious Blue Flag is seen as a guarantee of quality and is awarded to coastal destinations which have achieved the highest quality in water, facilities, safety, environmental education and management.
