Look out Mr Cowell! Ilfracombe talent show invites the folk of North Devon to strut their stuff on stage

A dance troupe, singers, a 13-year-old electric guitarist and a fitness pole dancer are among those already signed up for the first ever Birdman’s Got Talent competition in Ilfracombe.

But there is still plenty of time for would be stars of all ages to join them at the auditions in the Lantern Centre on Sunday, July 24 and be in with a chance to win a place in the grand final at South West Birdman on the Pier the following week.

Whether you can sing, play or juggle meerkats – why not see if your talent will put you on the road towards a 250 cash first prize?

The auditions start at 1pm and the competition is free to enter. Five finalists will be chosen by the judges and will go on to perform before the crowds on the Pier at the Birdman, organised by Ilfracombe Round Table on Sunday, July 31.

“We would still love to hear from anyone who would like to enter,” said organiser Greg Schofield.

“Any form of talent – although please remember it is a family show – and all ages are welcome.”

Passionate, quirky, skilful or amusing – all are welcome to sign up and prove that what Mr Cowell can do, the Birdmen of Ilfracombe can do too!
