A motorcyclist is in hospital in Barnstaple with serious injuries following a collision on the A39 near Roundswell yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.

The 40-year-old local man's Honda CBR 1100 was involved in a collision with a blue Volkswagen Golf directly opposite the picnic site entrance at Rooksbridge just after 3pm. Police said both vehicles were travelling in the same direction towards Bideford.

The 50-year-old driver of the car was uninjured.
