BIDEFORD are 21 points adrift down in the Devon B Division basement after going down by 72 runs at Plymstock.

Plymstock shot off through Dom Wood (50) and Ollie Mulbery, 22 in five overs, on their way to 246 all out.

Spinner James Ford with five for 31 was easily the pick of Bideford's bowlers. Martin Stewart (3-59) supplied the back up.

Bidefor were all out for 174 in reply - a bland statistic that hides the story of the game.

Bideford went for it at first - James Starkey (25), Ford (23) and Mike Wigley (25) all in the runs - and at 165 for five with five overs to go a draw looked likely.

Seb Jordan turned the game on its head by taking the last five wickets - including a hat-trick - as Bideford slumped to 174 all out with five balls to go.

Jordan, whose final figures were six for 34, sent back Ian Hayter, Josh King and Liam Kerr: one bowled, one lbw and the last one caught.
