Bideford teams on target

FOUR of the five Bideford Rifle Club teams won their Round 10 matches in the North Devon League and the result is still awaited on the fifth.

The B team had the satisfaction of beating their A team score.

The A team leads Division 1 on aggregate from Tiverton A while the E team is in second place in Division 3 and the B and C teams lie fourth and fifth in their divisions.

Bideford A 386, Pinhoe B 380; Bideford B 388, Bogey 385.34; Bideford C 379, Fonthill 375; Bideford E 373, Bogey 349.56.

There were two wins and a narrow defeat for the three Bideford teams in the Devon County Winter League.

The B and C teams both won again and continue to lead their divisions, but despite recording the second highest score in Division 1, the A team were drawn against the team with the highest score!

Bideford A 489 (Andy Darch 100), Budleigh TSC A 491; Bideford B 473, Paignton B 468; Bideford C 463, Manaton B 444.

There were also two wins out of three in the National Short Range League, with the C team maintaining their unbeaten record.

Bideford A 487 (John Hutchings 100), TVR 485; Bideford B 473, Bookham B 480; Bideford C 460, St Augustine 443.

Three club members are also competing in the Cumbria Benchrest League, with Keith Kersey currently leading Division 7 and Julie Whitmore top of Division 11.
