Bideford plotting an end to their rough run of results

North Devon Gazette

Bideford will be aiming to avoid a fifth straight defeat in Western Counties West when Penryn visit this Saturday.Â

Last time out Bideford, were beaten 64-8 at Kingsbridge. The travelling party included eight second-team players appearing in the Chiefs for the first time.Â

To round off a thoroughly miserable day for Bideford, Richard Weston broke a leg in the first half and Liam Balsdon dislocated a shoulder.Â

Bradley Goaman, the Bideford team manager, said it was a ‘disappointing defeat’ then added: “But it was always going to be tough with so many players missing.Â

“We fought hard and put in a committed performance, but Kingsbridge were too strong.Â

“We struggled at set piece and spent most of the afternoon in defence.Â

“Billy Teape and Alex Hillman had a busy afternoon in defence and both played well, as did young Tom Chapman at No.8.”Â
