Bideford Rifle Club members Martin Morgan and Ann Travis won the Robeda Trophy Shoot on Saturday with a score which equalled the best score since the event’s format was changed in 2005.
Team-mates also filled second and third positions.
The trophy is contested between pairs of shooters from North Devon clubs, with 60 shots at 50-metres.
Martin put up the best individual score of the day with 590 ex 600. He also shot one of the only two “possibles†of the day on his first card, while Adie Pile of Bideford also had one on his third competition card.
The handicap section of the event, with shooters competing against their registered average, was won by Bideford’s Alex Raymont in his first year of competitive prone shooting, in a very close contest with club-mate Adie Pile.
The bench rest section was won by Keith Kersey from the home club on countback after the top three scores were tied.
