A momentous day in the history of Bideford Blues Rowing Club saw eight members proudly perform a row past during the Henley Regatta on Saturday.
The club was due at the Regatta in 2020 to mark the 150th anniversary of the Blues and also 125 years of rowing at the club, but this was postponed because of the pandemic.
A crew of eight, plus one cox, made the journey to the Henley Regatta, undoubtedly the best known regatta in the world and a cherished highlight of the sporting summer in England.
Thousands of visitors descend on the regatta every year and the 2022 version was particularly special after the Covid interruptions, particularly so for the Exmouth crew.
“It was brilliant of everyone at Henley to allow us to still take part, despite the Covid delay,” said Alastair Peake from the Bideford Blues.
