Bid for new pool at Croyde holiday park

Ruda wants to create pool for “serious” swimmers alongside its Cascades fun pool complex.

RUDA Holiday Park has applied for planning permission to create a new swimming pool and fitness gym at its Croyde site.

Owner Parkdean Holidays is seeking permission from North Devon Council to extend its existing swimming pool building to add a new 20 metre pool.

The application describes it as “suited to more serious swimmers” and the development will include a viewing area for the pools as well as a new gym.

The site already has a “fun” Cascades Tropical Adventure Pool complex which includes a 230 foot slide.

The planning application is a revised and smaller version of a larger proposal that was approved in 2003, but permission has since expired.
