FIREFIGHTERS were called to put out a blaze in a terraced house in East-the-Water yesterday (Wednesday).

Two crews from Bideford got to work using breathing apparatus and one hose at around 3.50pm.

Around 40 per cent of a first floor bedroom at the property in Avon Road was damaged by heat and smoke.
