Barum juniors on a winning spree

BARNSTAPLE U15s travelled to Cullompton with an inexperienced starting 15 and played well to get the halftime score to 5-5.

But they dominated the second half, with replacements making an instant impact, and ran in eight more tries to one in reply for a 53-10 win.

Try scorers were James Newman (3) Ryan Dart (2) George Conway, Liam Elliss, Bradley Drew and Chris Kalisz, with Dom Thorne kicking four conversions in very windy conditions.

This Sunday they entertain Kingsbridge in the cup quarter final, kick off is at 12.30.

THE U14s easily beat Taunton 41-0 with a tremendous display of 15 man rugby.

Forwards and backs combined to produced some of their highest standard of play so far this season.

THE U13s travelled to Bideford on Sunday for their delayed Devon Plate competition.

Barum made a determined start and despite losing focus for a while just before the break they led 24-0 at half-time.

Tries were scored by Matthew Symons (2), Tom Clark, Billy Ashford and Will Knill and Knill added two conversions.

Barum lost their shape and discipline early in the second half, but settled to continue their domination of the game with further scores by debutant centre Matt Morrish (3), Ryan Lee, Symons and Alex Lomas with Knill adding a further four conversions for a final 67-0 scoreline.

The man of the match was Jack Cloke. A great performance from Barum who go on to play Okehampton in the next round.

BARUM U12s also gained a comfortable win on their visit to Bideford.

Up front it was hard fought, with neither set of forwards gaining the upper hand. But the Barnstaple backs gained a lot of ground with every attack and although Bideford tackled hard, they could not stop the Barum running out 54-5 winners.

Scorers for Barum were Aaron Vella, Jono Slee, Rafe Yewdall, Danny Southworth, Alastair Robinson and Aaron Rowley.

Barum U11s were 47-21 winners against South Molton.

Try scorers were: Bryn-Lee Hill 2, Harry Wilson-Palmer 2, Dan Cattermole, Charlie Hannan and Adam Schofield. there were conversions by Kyran McManus 4 and Stan Wilks 2.

HONOURS were even when Barnstaple U8s played two matches at home against Bideford.

The first was won by Bideford 10 tries to 7. Barnstaple scorers in this match were Daniel Trapnell, Ellis Rees, Ollie Kelly (3), Tom Turner & Owen Bound.

Barnstaple turned the tables to win the second match 8 tries to 5. their scorers were Owen Bound (3), Ellis Rees (2), Henry Huxtable, Patrick Clifton & Sam Beck.

BIDEFORD and Barnstaple U7s fought out a close and entertaining match, with the Barnstaple youngsters just coming out on top by 11 tries to 10.

Bideford try scores were William Walkey, Jacob Stevenson, George Nurse, Samuel Pichillo and Adam Leworthy.
