Barnstaple is on the hunt for its eco stars

Joseph Bulmer

THERE is still time to prove if someone you know is Barnstaple’s most environmentally friendly resident as the Town Council seeks nominations for its Eco Citizen Award.

It is open to any person or organisation involved in tackling litter, leaf fall, graffiti, flyposting or dog fouling problems as well as those helping to improve the town through schemes such as painting, street cleaning and garden tidying.

Judges will be looking for examples of energy saving or sustainable travel.

The closing date for nominations is Monday, June 6, so email your choice of tcommunity’s eco hero or heroine to the address below or drop it in to the Town Council Offices at Barum House on the Square.

All nominations will be judged by the Mayor, Environment Committee chairman and vice chairman, who will be looking at a range of criteria as listed above.

Send your nominations to Kate Graddock at Barum House, with reasons why they should win the award plus contact information for the nominee and yourself, to
