Britain’s Got Talent dance group to launch new Barnstaple dance company

TOP dance group Flava of Britain’s Got Talent fame will be in Barnstaple on Saturday to a new North Devon dance company.

In2street will be running a series of street dance classes for all ages at the New Fitness Factory premises in Fairview car park from January 29.

This coming Saturday everyone is invited to go along and find out more between 10am-1pm, together with the opportunity to meet and watch BGT semi finalists Flava, who achieved national fame in the 2008 series of the popular show.

The open day starts at 10am as qualified street dance instructor and In2street owner Kelly Render meets visitors and explains what her company is all about, followed by a performance.

From 11am-12 noon Flava will be performing as well as running a dance workshop for all those in attendance.

The final hour will be a taster session giving visitors the chance to find out what In2street has to offer and take part in a mini class.

Kelly will be holding classes at the New Fitness Factory for adults on Mondays and Fridays, with children’s classes for three different age groups on Saturday mornings.

She studied performing arts and dance at North Devon College before going on to teach in London and also danced for two years at the famous Pineapple Dance Studios.

She says hers is the only company in the area to use Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP,) the study of human experience, communication, thinking, language and behaviours, in dance classes – but the emphasis is on fun, not science!

“Street dancing is all about energy, it’s funky and all styles of dance mixed together,” she said.

“For me dance is all about expressing yourself and letting yourself go. When it comes to my classes, that’s exactly what they are like!”

There is a 5 charge for the open day. To book or find out more call Kelly 07766 954059 or email
