Amigos is looking for an enthusiastic young person to work with in North Devon.
BARNSTAPLE charity Amigos is offering a young person in North Devon the exciting opportunity to become part of its work through an internship programme.
Amigos is seeking a fund raising and administration intern to do a range of jobs assisting the charity’s efforts to improve the lives of young people in Uganda by providing a variety of training at its Kira Farm project..
The charity said the internship was suitable – but not limited to - for students at Petroc or university, or recent graduates seeking to add to their development and experience.
Megan Setchell, 22 and from Barnstaple, graduated from the University of Bristol last summer and has spent five months volunteering at Amigos but has now come to the end of her internship.
“I went to Amigos hopeful for a few weeks of experience,†she said.
“Instead I was welcomed into the team with open arms and allowed to get involved in every department.â€
With Megan leaving this month, the charity is seeking a fundraising and administration intern for approximately three days a week. The work will involve organising and supporting fundraising initiatives, working on trust fund applications and helping with community and personal-challenge events.
“I am so grateful to Amigos for giving me this opportunity, and I am confident that it was the skills that were reinforced by Amigos that has secured me my new internship in London,†added Megan.
“The whole Amigos experience has provided me with such a rich, well rounded education, and I am even more focused and equipped in getting a career in international development.â€
