Barnstaple business gets Biosphere award

A Barnstaple renewable energy business has become the first company to receive a bronze accreditation as part of the North Devon Biosphere Reserve’s Investing in Nature Scheme.

Sources Renewable Ltd has been operating in the area since February but has already seen an expansion in its market and business.

The Investing in Nature Scheme is available free to any business that would like advice and guidance on aspects relating to benefiting the environment and saving costs.

This can include energy efficiency, waste minimisation, efficient use of resources and biodiversity enhancement.

Organisers say being part of an internationally recognised brand will also be beneficial in terms of marketing advantage as businesses, once accredited, will use of the Investing in Nature brand free with links to the Biosphere Reserve website, which provides a networking community of like-minded businesses.

“Renewable energy as part of a sustainable way of thinking is important in any financial climate, as not only does it help the environment but it will also help to save on costs,” said Lucy Howe from Source Renewable Ltd.

“Being part of this scheme will help us stay one step ahead of our competitors”
