Another North Devon act heads to Plymouth on March 19 for the regional stage of one of the UK’s biggest music competitions

TEENAGED Barnstaple band The Confused are gearing up to join other North Devon musicians at the regional finals of the Live and Unsigned UK music competition.

On Saturday, March 19 the young four-piece band will be playing at Plymouth Guildhall, competing against other South West musicians for the chance to play in the national Grand Final at the 02 Arena in London.

Also taking part from North Devon are singer songwriters Ellie Campbell and Chris Millington.

The Confused are Indie Bennett, vocals and rhythm guitar; Dom Gilroy, drums; Lewis Jones, lead guitar and Iwan Williams, bass.

They may be young but since forming three years ago their brand of melodic indie rock has gained them a loyal local following and praise from high places.

Two of the band also played at the 2010 Barnstaple Lights Switch On, headlined by international star Newton Faulkner, who afterwards produced a double thumbs up and declared their performance “absolutely brilliant.”

The lads write their own material but also love recreating covers from bands such as Blur, Muse, The Fratellis, Buzzcocks and Kasabian.
