Popular event marks its anniversary with a feast of art and crafts from more than 50 artists and makers.

THE Assembly Rooms in South Molton will be buzzing once again on Friday, November 25 when the annual Art Bazaar celebrates its tenth anniversary.

With more than 50 artists and makers taking part, this popular event brings visitors into the town from far and wide.

Favourite local artists will be taking part, plus others from further afield, giving a great opportunity to see and buy, or even commission, original handmade artwork and a rare chance to chat with the gathered artists about their work and various techniques.

“One of the concerns some visitors may have is that prices will be too high,” said organiser Stella Levy.

“But I know all the artists are well aware art can be perceived to be ‘out of reach’ to the average person, so there will be reasonably priced unique, handmade gifts, original prints and cards, textiles, ceramics and a variety of other beautiful items available.”

As a celebration of Art Bazaar’s tenth anniversary, Tracey Benton, owner of Atelier Contemporary Art Gallery in Barnstaple, will be sponsoring prizes, for the artist who has created the best presented stall and a prize draw giving visitors the opportunity to vote for their own favourite stall.

The event runs from 12 noon-8.30pm and the South Molton Community Woodland group will be providing refreshments throughout the day, with proceeds going towards upkeep of the woodland.
