Player-manager opens the scoring with first half penalty

APPLEDORE beat Ottery St Mary 4-0 in the South West Peninsula League on Saturday.

Player manager Keith Shapland opened the scoring with a first half penalty and Ed Yeo extended the lead with two second half strikes.

Mark Cann scored the fourth as the Fishermen picked up their second away win of the season.

The North Devon side travel to Yelverton to play East Cornwall Premier Division side Bere Alston United in the second round of the Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup on Saturday.
