PLOUGH ARTS CENTRE, TORRINGTON: A rootin’ tootin’ band from the West Country, Ruby Darnell and The Lazy Rancheros play Western swing and Tex Mex with a hint of Cajun spice. KINGSLEY INN, NORTHAM: Presents a cabaret music show with Les Cavanagh with support from Tony Grenfell. Expect as good selection of live tunes from Sinatra plus rock ‘n’ roll from the 50s to the 80s. 8pm until late, with all welcome.

EX-SERVICES & SOCIAL CLUB, BARNSTAPLE: Well known Devon based Elvis tribute artist Maurice Broadway is back at the club in St Georges Road following a very successful gig last year. The former painter and decorator took up singing after being diagnosed with cancer and has been wining new fans ever since. PLOUGH ARTS CENTRE, TORRINGTON: Planet of Sound Christmas Party – expect an eclectic mix of music with different bands and DJs. Headlining are Brighton based six piece band Tin Roots. This female fronted reggae, dub, soul, blues and hip hop influenced band have been crafting their sound since 2009 and have already supported the likes of Toots and the Maytals. Hailing from Bristol are The Sage and Starr Experiment. Plus The Jumblebox Consortium, a three piece acoustic act from Hartland. Planet of Sound also welcomes the return of one of Devon’s most admired female singer song-writers in the form of Rosie Jones. 8pm start, tickets from (01805) 624624.
