‘Story book’ fun for Ilfracombe Junior School pupils

PUPILS at Ilfracombe Junior School enjoyed the challenge of dressing up as their favourite literary characters to celebrate Children’s Book Week.

On Wednesday the school was a walking story book for a day as pupils, parents and staff all rose to the occasion.

The challenge was laid down by Cath Newton from Ilfracombe Library, who held an assembly with the children to mark the annual celebration of encouraging reading for pleasure among primary school children.

Parents were also invited to come along and read to their child, or even to a class from their own favourite books.
