Sun shines on third annual Starpath Memory Walk fund-raiser
LATE summer sun shone on more than 100 walkers who took part in a twilight trek in memory of loved ones.
Old and young gathered together for the third annual Starpath Memory Walk, raising in excess of 5,000 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
The evening walk took participants from Barnstaple Square, along the Tarka Trail to the Little Bridge House hospice in Fremington.
Kim Anton, who took part in the walk for the first time said: “Friends of ours took part in the walk last year and told us how magical Little Bridge House looked in the glow of candles.
“This year when we arrived the house looked so beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the welcoming cup of tea and homemade flapjack.â€
Emma Puckey, CHSW head of fund-raising said: “The weather was exceptionally kind to us all, and a river of purple-shirted walkers made us all smile as they arrived at Little Bridge House.â€
