100 youngsters in Kwik Cricket festival

Joseph Bulmer

ONE hundred children from eight schools took part in the third annual Kwik Cricket Festival organised and hosted by Chulmleigh Cricket Club.

Each of the 12 teams played three matches, with Chulmleigh A emerging as winners with the only unbeaten record.

They were closely matched by Kings Nympton, who scored the most runs, East Worlington and Morchard Bishop A. Teams from Witheridge, Burrington, Lapford and High Bickington also took part.

There were some very close matches and lots of excellent cricket played as the teams had fun in the sun.

Chulmleigh Cricket Club welcomes young players from school Year 4 and above. It has Under 10, 11, 13 and 15 teams playing in the North Devon League and offers qualified coaching at the ground every Tuesday from 6pm. Contact Dave Gidney on 01363 84739 or at dagidney@yahoo.co.uk
