Festive fun and art are on the menu in South Molton.Â

Arts Destination South Molton are bringing you a new event - ‘Fun with Arts’ - which is taking place in The Assembly Rooms on Sunday December 5 (10am – 3pm) as part of South Molton Business Association's Winter Wonderland by Day – the family friendly Christmas Market taking place in the Pannier Market. Â

‘Fun with Arts’ has invited local artists and makers to display and demonstrate their work giving a great opportunity for people to chat with them, discover their skills and techniques and join in with a variety of Christmassy arts activities which are suitable for families and all age groups. Â

Local artist Lettice Bowen, 17, will be taking part in her first public art event demonstrating her pastel animal portraits. Â

Although Lettie was only 17 in August, she’s already enjoyed two exciting art related trips to London this year.Â

At the beginning of the summer holidays, she attended a week-long illustration course at the famous London Art School.Â

Then in September she attended the Unique Art Awards in Kensington where she won the silver award in her category for a pencil drawing of a bison and butterfly. Â

Taking part in the ‘Fun with Arts’ event will top off a lovely year which began in the spring when Lettie won the Exmoor pony Society’s centenary art competition for her age group for a drawing of an Exmoor pony! Â

There will be a screening of the community film about the town - ‘Capturing South Molton in Your Words & Images’ - and an opportunity to meet and chat with the film-maker, Gordon McKerrow and some of the local artists whose artworks and words are portrayed in the film.Â
