THERE is still an appetite for a few more vendors to join North Devon’s first ever Street Food Awards in Ilfracombe.

It is part of the two day All Things Morris Festival on the weekend of July 12-13 and on the Saturday the seafront will be packed with vendors selling tasty snacks and treats from all corners of the globe.

Following the success of last year’s first Morris festival, organisers have doubled the size of the event and added the Street Food Awards.

The highly sought after trophies will be known as ‘Maurices’ and the event is open to any street food vendors in North Devon and Torridge.

In return for turning up, vendors get a free prime seafront pitch, the chance to sell to Ilfracombe’s summer crowds plus the opportunity for Maurice glory.

Among those on board so far are Phansit’s Kitchen, Monty’s Caribbean Kitchen, Seadog, Cracking Nuts and The Big Pot Kitchen, which can feed hundreds from a huge French cooking pot.

“The event is a fantastic way for vendors to boost their summer season and gain great exposure at the same time,” said organiser Marnie Quy.

“We would love to hear from a few more vendors and also specialist local food producers, as there will be some space on the seafront for produce stalls.”

Apply to take part by emailing events@visitilfracombe.co.uk with details of your business and its food.
