Devon trio head to Bideford on January 26 and are also working on a charity single for Clarity
Devon trio Starlings are making their first appearance at The Palladium Club in Bideford tomorrow (Friday, January 26).
The trio stretch the parameters of drums, double bass and electric guitar to take in elements of lounge, cinematic, surf, funk and rock music.
The combination of raw instrumental material, tight grooves and analogue effects create a unique and unforgettable soundtrack. DJ Sky will be playing before and after their set.
Starlings are also in the final stages of their ‘Clarity single’ due to be released this spring to raise funds for the local mental health charity, in collaboration with Jim Jones and the Amy Newton-led Saunton Road Studios Choir.
Before Christmas local film-maker Matt Biggs shot the live recording of Jim and Starlings at the Audio Art Studios in Swimbridge.
The next step will be to film and record the choir section at Saunton Road Studios in Braunton.
Guitarist Jules Moberly said: “Everyone is very excited to be a part of this, and we all feel we are creating something rather special for a very important cause.”
The track entitled A Weight Off My Mind will be performed live as part of the Big Night Out – Remembering Mike Collins Clarity Fundraiser at Petroc on Saturday, February 10, where a host of local talented music acts will be performing.
