Combe Martin welcomes musicians of an American and English flavour for the first Shammick Acoustic concert of 2018
A Transatlantic connection will rejoin at Shammick Acoustic in Combe Martin this Saturday.
The first Shammick concert of the new year at the Pack O’ Cards will see American singer-songwriter Zoe Mulford and English fiddler and mandolinist Tom Kitching as guest artists from 8pm.
Neither is a stranger to the monthly club, but this is a new collaboration, formed in the making of Zoe’s fifth album, Small Brown Birds.
Originally from Philadelphia, Zoe has lived in several areas of the United States, taking up guitar, banjo and songwriting in her progress, moving to the north of England in 2006.
She charms her audiences with her powerful, story-driven songs, an engaging stage presence and a laid-back vocal style.
Tom plays fiddle and mandolin, but is particularly known for the former, of which he is a master.
He has a unique, vibrant style full of exuberance, energy and wit, yet capable of expressing extraordinary emotional depth. According to Mike Harding, he is one of the best English fiddlers ever.
Tickets are £8 at the door, or £7 in advance from www.wegottickets.com/ShammickAcoustic, or if you’re in Combe Martin, available at the venue or Pets’ Pantry in the High Street.
