Ever wished you could play a musical instrument? Why not visit Soundpad at Rolle Quay in Barnstaple on Saturday (April 12) and have a go?
ANYONE who ever wanted to play a musical instrument but never knew where to start is invited to Play It Today at Soundpad in Barnstaple this Saturday.
People of all ages are welcome to drop in at the Rolle Quay music shop from 10am-5pm and try a range of different instruments, with music teachers on hand to offer help and advice.
Absolutely no musical experience is necessary and it is all free, with guitars, keyboards, pianos, banjos, ukuleles and drums among the many instruments on hand to try.
The store is hoping the event will inspire a new generation of musicians or perhaps offer an opportunity for those who had never have considered it before and help dispel mysteries or myths surrounding the making of music.
It is the first time Soundpad has held such an event and Play It Today is timed to coincide with national Learn to Play Day.
Staff will also be on hand to offer advice if required and if anyone should decide to take their musical journey further, there will be special deals on purchases made on the day.
There is a large range of new and pre-owned acoustic, electric and bass guitars, keyboards, percussion, keyboards, recording equipment and all the accessories you might need.
Soundpad was set up by Graham Pell in 1972 in Leicester and moved to Barnstaple in the late 1980s. Since then he and his son Richard have continued to drive the business.
“The great thing about music is that it is a universal language all ages understand,” said Richard.
“We are very lucky in North Devon to have a brilliant music scene, but we often find people who want to learn do not know where to turn to.
“Play It Today is a great opportunity to try a new instrument and get all the advice they need to start playing.”
Just drop in at Soundpad on Rolle Quay on Saturday, or find out more by calling 01271 323686 and visit www.soundpad.co.uk
