Artists across North Devon throw open their studio doors for Art Trek 2012 from July 7-22.
A JOURNEY of infinite discovery waits as the popular Art Trek returns to North Devon from this weekend.
Now in its ninth year, the event sees local artists throw open the doors of their homes and studios to showcase a wide variety of arts and crafts.
Art Trek 2012 spans the first three weekends in July, from this Saturday through to July 22, with many venues also opening during the week and throughout the year.
Visitors can meet artists to chat informally and see work in progress, watch on-site demonstrations or take part in workshops.
The art involved ranges from painting, sculpture, printmaking, textiles and jewellery to photography, stained glass, wood-carving, furniture, ceramics and multi-media.
There are an even greater number of workshops for this year, as well as a host of new venues which might not fit the traditional ‘studio’ description, including National Trust properties, galleries, cafés and school rooms.
Venues stretch across the area, from Ilfracombe on the north coast as far south as Dolton, east to Bampton and West to Hartland.
The North Devon Theatres event is co-ordinated by local artist Stella Levy with the co-operation of dozens of local artist and makers. For the full venue, listings and event details, download a programme from www.ndtt.org.uk/arttrek.
