The Big Sheep
Keep the kids entertained with a host of fun – and educational - activities next week
Parents are being invited to keep the kids entertained during February half-term break with craft workshops, storytelling – and even live lambing!
Barnstaple Guildhall is hosting a week of free family activities next week (February 14-17).
The fun includes living history and creative scrap workshops on Tuesday from 10am-3pm.
Children can join the cast of a Treasure Island play on Wednesday, and there is story play on Thursday.
On Friday, younger children can enjoy messy play.
All activities are free but some require booking. For more information visit www.barnstapletowncouncil.co.uk
Crafts in the museum
Meanwhile, a free family arts and craft day is being held at the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon on Wednesday, February 15 between 10.30am and 3pm.
Families can pop into the museum for some crafty fun with the WOW North Devon Scrap Store.
North Devon Council’s executive member for leisure and culture, Councillor Dick Jones, said: “Entry to the museum is free and there is always plenty to see, which makes it a great place to take the children during school holidays.
“While you’re there, why not also take a look at the plans for the museum extension, which are on display in the café?”
For more information, follow the museum on Facebook or call 01271 346747. For more information on WOW North Devon, visit www.wownorthdevonscrapstore.wordpress.com
You know spring is round the corner when the lambs are being born at The Big Sheep.
This February half term, the family attraction in Abbotsham is once again holding its Lambing Live shows.
From this Saturday until Sunday, February 19, meet and feed the newborn lambs and the expectant mums.
There will also be shearing and milking shows. For more information visit www.thebigsheep.co.uk
Crafty library fun
Ilfracombe Library is hosting a free drop-in craft session on Tuesday (February 14). Youngsters are invited to go along and make some fabulous sun-catchers between 10.30am - 3.30pm. It is suitable for all ages (with maybe a little bit of parental help) and there is no need to book, just turn up.
Keep up to date with activities on the Ilfracombe Library Facebook page
