Well known performer Dave Swarbrick at the George Hotel this Saturday.
LEGENDARY folk fiddler Dave Swarbrick returns for a solo gig at The George Hotel in South Molton on Saturday.
During his subsequent illustrious and influential career, the highly respected performer has worked with big names such as Fairport Convention, Martin Carthy and Band of Hope as well as founding Whippersnapper.
He has been awarded the coveted Gold Badge from the English Folk Song and Dance Society and in 2004 gained a Lifetime Achievement Award in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
“It is always such a treat to welcome ‘Swarb’ to The George and our appreciative audiences never tire of hearing masters of their craft at work,” said proprietor Cathy Doel.
“For those who have never seen the maestro play live, don’t miss this opportunity to hear his soaring fiddle playing - guaranteed to blow away those February cobwebs.
“The evening will doubtless be well peppered with amusing anecdotes about the famous and numerous musicians Swarb has worked with during his long career, while his congenial good humour is so suited to an intimate venue like ours.”
The gig starts at 8.30pm and tickets cost £10, available by calling the venue on 01769 572514 or via www.georgehotelsouthmolton.co.uk.
