Talented types battle it out at South West Birdman.

A quintet of finalists battled it out for the honour of being named Birdman’s Got Talent champion 2012 on Sunday.

The contest at the annual South West Birdman on the Pier saw the winners of the heats held at Buddy’s Live Lounge perform before the Birdman crowd.

Judges were Ray Williams, last year’s winner Miranda Goldring, Jenny Collingham and Martin Condliffe.

The performers were street dancers Jack Danson and Bradley Walker as Level Up; singer-guitarist Ollie Ivan; singer Jodie Handley; keyboard player Noel Grummitt; and singer-keyboard player Kiera Osment.

The judges complimented all the acts, but it was 12-year-old Kiera who was crowned 2012 BGT champion, with a song she wrote and performed herself.

The finalists have also been asked if they would like to appear during the first Cavertstock festival at the Beggars Roost, Barbrook near Lynton on Saturday August 11.
