High energy up-and-coming blues rockers The Big Fat Blues Band from Wales will be playing the Pier Tavern in Ilfracombe on Friday.

Their critically acclaimed debut album Back in Blues Town which has been hailed as ‘the Severn Delta blues’ has held the attention of critics all over the UK and Europe.

The band members include Phil Jones on lead guitar and vocals. Previously from the band S.E.X. Phil gained a cult following in the 80s for his comedic, raunchy high energy performances.

Morgan Lynham (bass guitar) has been referred to by experts as ‘the best bassist in South Wales’.

He is joined by Phil Lowery (drums) a blues-rock veteran who plays with intimate feeling and power and Matthew Thomas (the tour drummer), who comes from a good background in hard rock and heavy metal.

A recent connection with the classic rock band Deep Purple has led them to take part in their new music video Johnny’s band.
