Free family event with live music at Ilfracombe’s Landmark Theatre on Thursday, December 21
North Devon’s musicians have joined forces to present a free community event of festive fun and live music at Ilfracombe’s Landmark Theatre on Thursday, December 21.
From 4pm in the Pavilion there will be free activities for children and families, plus live music from a host of local bands running until 11.30pm.
It is being organised by Free the Arts UK, a community organisation formed by Tarma Lynn and Jack Tipper, who also perform as The Peacekeeping Missiles.
They will be playing on the day, together with Rakes Adrift, Hang in D, Jambones featuring Anna K and Homesick Gypsy,
Jack said the event would also be professionally live-streamed throughput the day.
He said: “It’s a free event to try and big up the Landmark Theatre while they are not doing shows there.
“Parkwood have opened up the space for us and it’s a one-of at the moment but the hope is to make it a regular thing every six weeks or so, to bring things such as arts and crafts and free events to the community.”
The event was born off the back of a successful free community event in the summer at Runnymede Gardens, which raised money for Northern Devon Foodbank.
Free the Arts UK also has some land in Ilfracombe where Jack and Tarma want to set up a farm project, working with Incredible Edible and offering an organic café, with teaching sessions and a craft school.
