Malija, Rachael Roberts and The Gatsby Gang plus Amy newton and Jenna Witts are playing at Broomhill Art Hotel and Sculpture Gardens this autumn season
An autumn season of jazz is on offer at Broomhill Art Hotel and Sculpture Gardens in the coming weeks.
The first offering on Wednesday, October 18 is in the form of sophisticated, genre-bending trio Malija.
Three distinctive compositional voices in Mark Lockheart (sax), Liam Noble (piano) and Jasper Høiby (bass), all hugely influential in the London scene, combine to form a unique sounding group.
Expect something completely different on Friday, November 17, as Rachael Roberts and The Gatsby Gang visit the venue near Barnstaple.
The group brings the roaring 20s bang up to date, journeying through jazz standards from the 1920s and 1930s with delightful stories and anecdotes.
Rachael is backed by an all-star band featuring Richard Llewllyn (guitar), James Budden (double bass) and her father Tony Roberts - a well-known jazz saxophonist who has worked with many jazz luminaries such as John Dankworth and Humphrey Lyttleton.
The Christmas special on December 7 features local pairing Jenna Witts and Amy Newton.
Jenna and Amy have performed together on several occasions and are always well received.
Delivering wonderfully melodic songs inspired by their native North Devon, love and life, Jenna and Amy will be performing solo sets as well as joining each other for some select duets and Christmas themed specials.
