Wooly win turns the tables

12:57 24 October 2012

A victory from Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks has seen a shift around in the division two tables this week.

The team beat leaders Frank Heard’s Heffers 45-29 with impressive work in the mid court by Shahnaz Gullen, moving them up the table.

Carol Anne Rubies and Emeralds were also successful in close matches defeating Langtree Re-Unites Rogues and South Molton Falcons 41-39 and 37-30 respectively.

In the top division, Carol Anne Trolls and Carol Anne Diamonds netted more than 50 goals in the matches Titans Voyager and Bude Stars. Defenders Vicky Hair and Penny Walker played an influential role, winning the ball on numerous occasions.

After an initial struggle from Venners Bakery Cobras they started to work well as a team and defeated Titans Jupiter 38-29.

Langtree Re-Unites Rhinos and Venners Bakery Misfits shared the lead throughout the match in division three but top shooting by Elsa Thorne enabled Rhinos to take the points winning by one.

Venners Bakery Anacondas scored a narrow victory over Carol Anne Topaz 34-29 and Helouise Johnson was superb in defence helping Titans Pluto to another win.

In division four, Carol Anne Quartz and Woolacombe Wolves continued their unbeaten run with victories over Carol Anne Opals and Gater Girls 48-24 and 38-17 respectively.

Jess Heyland worked her magic to push Carol Anne Jets to beat CPB Navigators.

In a county match, the Titans came out firing and back to their winning ways, beating West Exe 78-21.

At the end of the first quarter the pressure was on West Exe with the Titans leading 21-8.

West Exe only netted three goals in the second quarter as the Titans fired out another 20 with excellent timing from defence to attack.

The half time score stood at 41-11, and into the third quarter Clare Aldrich linked well with the attack and fed the ball to the shooters putting the scores at 58-15.

The final quarter saw a great team performance and a victory for the Titans as Clare Aldrich picked up player of the match.
