Girls from years 7 and 8 take first step on England Netball’s player performance pathway

FIVE West Buckland School girls have been selected to join the U14 North Devon Netball Satellite Academy.

Year 8 pupils Jess Thompson, Molly Down and Eluned Davies along with year 7 pupils Tiger-Lily Redmore and Grace Wilton will take part in 15 academy training sessions from September.

The Satellite Academy is the first step on England Netball’s player performance pathway, a process for developing athletes with the attributes to attain excellence.

The Satellite Academy provides talented young athletes access to quality coaching, a structured technical training programme and an introduction to a basic fitness schedule.

The West Buckland pupils were selected after attending trials with other promising young netball players from across North Devon earlier in June.
