The six races include the listed Molson Coors Novices’ Hurdle run over 2m1f. The race is typically seen as a trial for both the Supreme Novices’ and Ballymore Properties’ Hurdle races. With the course’s reputation as a leading nurturing ground for the country’s star chasers in the making, the 3m graduation chase and the 2m3f novice chase are sure to attract one or two classy types. There is also a 2m3f handicap chase and a novices’ hurdle.

A spokesman from the course said: “This is an extremely popular meeting at Exeter, not least because it normally attracts some high class runners and we offer two for £10 entry. Given children aged 17 and under race free, it makes it an extremely cheap day out. It’s become a real highlight in the calendar and we find it really cheers people up in the middle of winter.”

Exeter runs a free bus service from Exeter St Davids and Exeter Bus Station which departs from the racecourse half an hour after the last race. There are number of raceday packages available. Visit www.exeter-racecourse.co.uk for more details.
