Golf club’s annual ‘search for a star’ competition triumphs again
Royal North Devon golf club held their annual ‘search for a star’ competition on Saturday, with 15 youngsters battling it out to prove they were worthy of a year-long scholarship membership.
After testing the young golfers across putting, chipping, balance and concentration, Ross Daniel and head professional Iain Parker awarded three of them with scholarships, which entitle them to a year’s free membership of the club.
Alfie King, Max Dymond and Kobe Dymond were the successful trio, who will now have the opportunity to develop in one of the country’s best youth set-ups.
They will also hope to emulate the achievements of Open Championship Bronze medal winner Jimmy Mullen, who started out at the club in a similar way when he was nine years old.
