TORRIDGESIDE Amateur Swimming Club are the winners of the latest mini league swimming gala series.

Torridgeside finished the third and final gala with a total of 11 points, followed by Tiverton with nine and Barnstaple with eight. Ilfracombe finished fourth.

Torridgeside headed into the final gala at Tiverton as big favourites, having won the first at Torrington and shared the honours at Barsntaple’s home gala.

And despite finishing second to Tiverton on the day, they powered through to claim the mini series win in style.

Head Coach of Torridgeside Suzanne Tyrrell was really pleased with her team, who all swam ‘magnificently’ with many young swimmers enjoying their first team galas and some of the older swimmers having to swim up.

“It showed a great team atmosphere which is what swimming for Torridgeside is all about,” she said. “A very proud head coach in her first year.”
