This week’s North Devon table tennis action

North Devon’s table tennis teams were in Ramsey Cup action this week as all six first division teams triumphed over lower league opposition.

There was some good news for the lower league sides, though, as Torrington B and Dolphins from the third made it through.

The individual and doubles championships were played at the Tarka Tennis Centre. In the Open Singles, Mathew Thomas will play Peter Kneil while Martyn Beer will take on Marcus Berry.

The Single Handicap Final pits the third division’s Tim Cooke against Michael Sussex. The handicap doubles have father and son combination Mathew and Harry Thomas against Michael Sussex and Marlon Cole, while Mathew Thomas and Peter Kneil will contest the Vets Handicap.

Finally, in the Vets Open, Michael Sussex will play the winner of Marcus Berry and Peter Kneil at Instow in April.

The Tarka Centre has become a regular Thursday night venue for table tennis with 30 to 40 players attending on a regular basis. For further information, contact Mathew Thomas on 01271 371206.
