Bideford 0-3 Plymouth Argyle
Bideford suffered their second cup exit in four days on Tuesday night as they bowed out of the Evendale Turf Ltd Devon St Luke’s Challenge Cup.
The Robins were beaten 3-0 at the Sports Ground by a strong Plymouth Argyle team, which included eight players who have feature in League Two this season. That eight included experienced striker Nick Chadwick, who played the full 90 minutes on his way back from injury.
Bideford were boosted by the return from suspension of Matt Bye and Nick Milton’s first appearance of the season, and by the bumper crowd of 230 which turned out to see their team take on Argyle’s stars.
Cup holders Plymouth were ahead after ten minutes when 18-year-old Tyler Harvey latched on to an Isaac Vassell header.
But the Robins made their professional visitors work hard and stayed in the game until 20 minutes from time, when Harvey finished well to give Argyle some breathing space.
River Allen completed the scoring five minutes later when his shot from range deflected in off Bye.
Bideford will hope to get back to winning ways in the league on Saturday, when they entertain mid-table Corby Town.
