North Devon angling scene with Tony Gussin
Anglers endured a blistering sun but still managed some good weights at the Stafford Moor open match on Sunday.
Of 32 competitors, first was Andy Dare with 278lb 2oz on Woodpecker Laken second was Martin Heard with 174lb on Tanners, third 3rd place Tim Kinson with 173lb 6oz and fourth Andy Funnylove with 173lb 3oz.
The previous week’s Over 50s Festival saw Andy Dare win again with a perfect score of just four points and a total weight of 510lb 7oz. In second was Mark Layzelle who had five points with 277lb 14oz and in third was Keith Winn with seven and a total weight of 339lb 12oz.
On the individual scene, Freddy Loosemoore who had a couple of nice fish out from Lodge Lake on Mainline Cell wafters in one afternoon session.
Harry Lord had 15 fish out from the beach swim on Beattie’s Lake fishing with Mainline cell boilies.
Bideford & District Sea Angling Club 24 hour rover results for June saw some good flatfish weighed in.
Dan Redmnore was first with a good plaice of 2lb 4oz for 112% while Antony Smith had a thick-lip mullet of 4lb 3 for second and Lee Watts was third with another plaice of 1lb 12.
The first heat of the 2017-18 North Devon League season also kicks off this weekend.
